Lidl grocery store to open in Gastonia

September 2, 2017 by

The first store in Gaston County of the Lidl grocery chain, a German discount supermarket, will be opening in Gastonia later this month.

This will be in addition to three other locations that will also open in September in the greater Charlotte area in Indian Land and Shelby and Rock Hill.

On opening day at each store, the first 100 customers will receive a wooden coin, which will provide them with an opportunity to win close to $100 in gift cards from the store.

There will be other events on opening day, including special deals and offers for customers, the ability to sample products from Lidl, and the chance to take home a reusable Lidl bag. There will also be weekend activities such as prize giveaways, games, and more types of specials.

Operating hours of the stores will be 8:00 am to 9:00 pm every day of the week. Between 50 and 60 employees are expected to be hired at each store.

The store in Gastonia has a planned opening date of Thursday, September 28. The stores in Indian Land and Shelby will open on September 21 and the one in Rock also on September 28.

Flyers and other type of printed materials are often used to attract large numbers of people to grand openings such as this one, and to publicize special deals and prices on featured products.
