Ocoee asked to show support to local vets

August 13, 2017 by

Ocoee veterans, currently serving military personnel, and the general public as well have been asked to join members of the Winter Garden American Legion to walk in a show of solidarity and support for those battling PTSD.

The march will follow a 5km route, and those who participate are welcome to wear their full rucksack or a backpack, but this is not required. Vets of all ages are encouraged to walk, and those who do will have the option of stopping at the 1km mark if the full length is too long.

Along with the march, there will be lots more going on as well. The organizers have planned activities after the hike, and they noted that there will be plenty of fun for people of all ages. Lunch will be served, and there will be entertainment, games, and other festivities as well. A raffle will be held and the ticket price for the day includes both two raffle tickets and a specially designed T-shirt, which has been prepared just for the occasion. Promotional products such as this can be supplied by an area printer.

The American Legion – Challenge 22 Silkies Ruck Walk will be held on September 9th, and all we be welcome. Further details about the day can be found on the event’s Facebook listing, which includes a link to purchase tickets for the walk.
