Arts festival returns to Portland’s Pearl District

August 12, 2017 by

The 21st annual Art in the Pearl fine arts and crafts festival is taking place over three days next month in Portland.

This Labor Day weekend festival has been voted as one of the 10 best in the United States, according to the Art Fair Source Book.

There will be over 100 artists selling a wide variety of items which will include ceramics, drawings, handmade jewelry, and prints. Many of the artists will be demonstrating their crafts, including sculpture, blacksmithing, and woodworking. They will also be competing for Best of Show accolades.

This festival offers more than art, and there will be theater presentations and musical entertainment. Among this year’s entertainers are Gypsy Heart and Friends, Ezza Rose, Woody Moran, and Stephanie Schneiderman, many of whom will be appearing on the Singer/Songwriter Stage.

There will also be a Hands-on Art Pavilion where people of all ages can try their hand at making art, such as pottery and prints. In addition, food and drink will be available for purchase.

Many of the participating artists may invest in services such as postcard printing from a favorite Portland printing company. These are often used as large format business cards.

The Art in the Pearl festival will be held in the Pearl District on the Northwest Park blocks. Admission is free of charge. For the most current information, call 503-512-9071.
