Farmingdale, NY (04/26/2012) – Doug and Stephanie Schofhauser, co-owners of the Minuteman Press center in Bend, OR, are teaming up with their local United Way for the annual “Days of Caring” event.
They were an existing customer of the Minuteman Press center when Doug and Stephanie bought the business in 2008. They’ve strengthened the relationship over the past four years and participate in their Community Impact Review Committee and Days of Caring. The Days of Caring is a county-wide effort matching local businesses with non-profit agencies for a day of community service. Days of Caring provide an opportunity for non-profits to select a project that needs helping hands; then businesses in the community organize volunteers to help.
This is Doug and Stephanie’s second year participating in the “Days of Caring” event. Last year Doug spread mulch on a walking trail around the local hospital and Stephanie painted private interview rooms at an organization that helps abused children. United Way will assign them to projects such as light construction, landscaping, painting or cleaning.
“We’re proud to support United Way in our community,” said Stephanie “There are so many wonderful non-profits in our small town and working with United Way allows us to give of our time in the most efficient way possible.”
The home office of Minuteman Press along with RVP Steve Cooper would like commend the Schofhauser’s on their diligence in making their community a better place. The hard work that they put into the community in which they live, shows through not only in their personal lives; but in how successful their printing business has been.
