The Lafayette Community Garden and Outdoor Education Center will be hosting a Fall Harvest Celebration later this month. The garden, which opened to the public this spring, was a three-year project for the community, and Lafayette residents are invited to come in and celebrate the first harvest.
While the weekend of September 21 and 22 started with rain, the clouds eventually parted and the sun shone down on the 18th Annual Lafayette Art, Wine, and Music Festival. This was surely a big relief to festival attendees, since the event was considered the place to be for the weekend. It is one of the biggest festivals in Contra Costa County, and over 100,000 people were expected to attend.
