Fundraising walk to get Woodinville into stride

It is not too long now until the Greater Seattle League hosts ‘One Step at a Time: A Fun Walk for Childhaven’ at Wilmot Gateway Park located at 17301 131st Avenue, NE, in Woodinville, Washington.

This fundraising walk consists of a flat, four-mile walk suitable for the whole family. The route involves a loop along the scenically beautiful Sammamish River and the entire course should take less than an hour and a half to complete.

Being held in Woodinville’s most popular and busiest park, walkers will have the option of turning around anytime and returning to the start line, as the idea is to have fun. After the walk is completed and everyone has returned, there will be slices of pizza and a beverage for all participants. Adults will enjoy a ‘no-host’ wine sampling from four of the local wineries located in the area.

Childhaven provides educational programs and assistance for Seattle and King County’s neglected children, as well as children who are abused. All proceeds raised during this walk will go towards Childhaven’s programs.

Kicking off with check-in and registration at 3:30 pm on Sunday, September 9, it would be no surprise if banner printing and poster printing had been used to spread the word about this worthwhile fundraising walk to residents of the community. The cost to take part is $25 per person, although children under six are free. To learn more about this walk or Childhaven, please visit the Childhaven Fun Walk website or call 206-604-2377 during normal business hours.
