Scottish shenanigans await this weekend

June 20, 2013 by

The Tacoma Highland Games is a great family opportunity to come out and enjoy everything that is Scottish.

For lovers of Scottish music and dance, this is the place to be at the end of June, as there is something for everyone in the family. Poster printing, brochure printing, and other printing services may have been used to make these games possible in the community of Tacoma and the surrounding districts.

During the games, there will be live Scottish entertainment including bagpipers and a Scottish dance competition. There will be a gathering of the clans and a number of vendors offering Scottish food and other items.

The Scottish athletes will compete a variety of Highland challenge events and competitions and there will be a lot of Scottish farm animals on hand for viewing. As part of this entertaining day, there will be live entertainment and a complete selection of activities to keep the children entertained. This is an outdoor festival, so families are reminded to dress appropriately and to bring sunglasses, sun screen, and their cameras to take some great photos.

Tickets for this event are $10 per adult, $8 for seniors and active military with ID, $8 for children between 6 – 18, and free for children under 6. The Tacoma Highland Games will be taking place on Saturday, June 22, starting at 8:00 am at the Frontier Park, Pierce County Fairgrounds located at 21800 Meridian Avenue E in Graham, Washington, just a short drive from Tacoma. To check out the schedule of events, please visit the Tacoma Highland Games website or call the organizers at 360-264-2156.
