Fundraising auction is a red-hot issue

July 28, 2013 by

An online fundraising auction sponsored by the Museum of Glass has been set up to allow people to sponsor an artist for its residency program.

The ‘Fuel the Fire’ auction offers the winner a free piece of art from the residency collection. Poster printing, online flyer printing, and postcard printing may have been used to promote this unique auction to people in this community and the surrounding regions.

As part of the auction process, people must place their bids on the Fuel the Fire website, which includes detailed information about the artists participating in this event. After placing a bid, bidders will receive notice each time someone else bids on the piece of art and the bid is higher than the one they placed.

For those who do not wish to place bids online, there is a contact number where they can place the bid and use an alternative method of communication. The winning bidders will receive a piece of art from the residency and have the choice of attending the private luncheon or the cocktail reception to meet the artists. Winners will also receive recognition on the museum’s website. Funds raised from this event will be used to support the Visiting Artist Residency Program.

Donations of cash for this fundraiser will gladly be accepted, and the auction will be open for bidding up until Monday, August 5. For additional information, please visit the Museum of Glass located at 1801 Dock Street in Tacoma, Washington, visit its website, or given it a call at 253—284-4750.
