A berry good time to be had this weekend

August 30, 2013 by

An annual event is on its way back round, offers families in the area all types of entertainment to enjoy over the Labor Day Weekend.

This Blackberry Festival is geared towards people of all ages and hopes to include something for everyone. It is widely known in the area, but poster printing services will remind people that the event is due to come round again.

During the festival, guests will enjoy everything to do with blackberries, including the Berry Fun Run, which features both a one-mile and a five-kilometer run. As part of this celebration, there will be a car show and a Fly In – Young Eagles Show staged at the Bremerton National Airport, a Children’s Music Stage which will host songs, music, and magic.

Children can enjoy bubble fun, pony rides, activities, and games. The Bremerton Police Color Guard will perform and there will be a showcase performance by Kevin Wolf, a magician. The Main Stage will feature a vast collection of groups, including the Independents, Jr. Cadillac, Soft Majesty, Europa, and Navy Band NW Passage. A beer garden and blackberry wine tasting will add a little zest for the adults, who should be sure to bring photo ID. A large number of vendors will have unique products to offer as well.

The Blackberry Festival is free to attend and will be happening from Saturday, August 31 to Monday, September 2, starting at 10:00 am at the corner of 2nd Street and Washington Avenue in Bremerton, Washington, just a short drive from Silverdale.
