Summer camp comes to a dramatic end

August 23, 2012 by

Next week will be the final chance for kids to take part in a weeklong event entitled ‘Summer Stage 2012, Stone South Theatre Drama Camp’, at Meridian Park in Seattle, Washington. The times for this event vary depending on the age group, so please see the website for specific information on the event, which ends Friday, August 31.

This theatre camp is offered to children of all ages in a number of locations including Meridian Park, Marymoor Park, Jefferson Park, and Seward Park, depending on the location in which the child lives. All age groups are welcome to this outdoor summer camp. During the week, children will discover the magic that takes place behind the curtain and will learn about costumes, scripts, and much more. Programs are designed to be accommodating towards all age groups and skill levels.

On Friday, after an intensive week of learning and practicing, a stage presentation will be made for a viewing audience. Some of the programs this summer have included Stellaluna, Winnie the Pooh, Musical Moves, Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Space Race Camp and The Hobbit, while other programs are based on Greek myths and musicals.

Parents are reminded that this is an outdoor program, so sunscreen and sweaters may be required. Poster printing and flyer printing may have been used to promote this exciting summer camp program to the parents and children in this community and the region. For information about this theatrical experience, please visit the Stone Soup Theatre website or call 206-388-9212.
