On its way to Seattle tomorrow, the ‘Electronics Recycling Fundraising Event’ is being sponsored by American Electronics Recycling, and is geared around raising funds for the benefit of the QAE’s IslandWood Fund, as well as Seattle Tilth.

This eco-conscious program enables residents to set electronics at the curb for pick-up, instead of having to deliver then to the designated drop-off locations. No doubt info on the initiative will have been disseminated through flyer printing in preparation for the day.

As part of a drive from the Queen Anne Elementary School, resourcefully minded people in the Queen Anne’s area will be able to place their old computers, printers, and other electronic equipment at the curb for pick up. Volunteers are required to assist with set-up, managing traffic in the parking lot, curbside drop-offs, and clean-up.

People will be able to head to the school and pick up any unwanted electronic items that they require. Most of the items are free, although some have fees to assist with the fundraising initiative. The program also assists scholarship for students to attend IslandWood Camp – a weeklong trip for those in grade five that centers on stewardship and the environment.

There is no cost to attend this event and all are welcome to come out and assist. The fundraiser will be happening on tomorrow, April 27, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Queen Anne Elementary School, with set-up at 9:00 am. To learn more about this fundraising initiative and how to assist as a volunteer, visiti the school’s website or call Heather Palmer at 425-251-1997.
