Redmond to kick off holiday season

The holidays return to Redmond next month with a lighting ceremony at city hall.

Besides the illumination of the downtown lights, attractions will include musical entertainment, children’s activities and refreshments. Guests will receive a free holiday blinker while supplies last.

After the lighting ceremony, the public might want to take part in the Redmond Central Connector (RCC) Luminary Walk. It will travel along the Sammamish River from City Hall to the Redmond Town Center, where participants can enjoy a warm beverage, sample free treats, ride the Marriott Merry-go-round, and enjoy free entertainment. Children will also have to opportunity to make and take crafts.

For those who want to get started on their holiday shopping, the Holiday Craft Market is taking place during the afternoon. Guests can pick up some handmade gifts for their loved ones and have the chance to win door prizes.

There will be several booths set up at Redmond Town Center, and it’s likely that many of the vendors will be investing in services from local printing companies, such as sign and banner printing.

Redmond Lights takes place at City Hall Plaza on December 7, beginning at 4:00 pm. The RCC Luminary Walk will start right after the lighting ceremonies, and those interested can contact the City of Redmond at 425-556-2360 for more information.

The Holiday Craft Market is being held at the Redmond Senior Center from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm and is free to attend. To find out more about the event, call 425-556-2314.
