Puyallup raises hat to local business leaders

December 29, 2013 by

The Annual Rising Star Awards breakfast is taking place this January. It is a presentation of the Puyallup Sumner Chamber of Commerce.

This event honors both local business and chamber members who were nominated by their peers. Guests will be served breakfast and then take part in the awards presentations. There are 13 awards to be handed out in all, honoring such achievements as being the best firm for which to work, being a high-achieving nonprofit or volunteer, and being the year’s best entrepreneur or business ambassador. There are about six finalists for each category, and winners were chosen by a chamber committee.

The breakfast ceremony is also a great networking opportunity for Puyallup and Sumner businesspersons. No doubt many of them will be thinking of placing a new business card printing order in advance. That way they can be sure that their contact information is correct and current, and that they have plenty of cards to exchange with their peers.

There will be plenty of time to hand out business cards and to deliver a short elevator speech, and it is even possible that new business relationships will come out of any meeting.

The Rising Star Awards will be held at the Pioneer Park Pavilion on January 14 beginning at 7:30 am. Tickets are $30 for Puyallup Sumner Chamber of Commerce members or $35 for non-members, while a table of eight costs $225. For more information about the awards, call 253-845-6755 or log on to the Chamber’s website.
