Olympia families to have fun in the mud
August 29, 2012 by Mark
The Great Evergreen Mud Run will offer a fun way for families to get fit and will be taking place at the Evergreen State College located at 2700 Evergreen Parkway NW in Olympia, Washington.
This outlandish mud run features more than three miles of challenges, fun, and, needless to say, plenty of mud. There will be a variety of different events, including wall climbing, a beach run, hay bale jumping, climbing over the cargo nets, and a crawl through the oozy gooey mud pits, all in the name of fun.
The course has more than 10 obstacles and covers several kilometers. This is a fun family event, so after the adult competition gets off to a good start, the children will have some fun too. They will be jumping, climbing, and crawling through the mud just like the adults, although their course will be much shorter at about a half mile. The children’s run, named the ‘Little Geoduck Mud Run, will be age appropriate for children 8 to 13. This is a rain or shine event, but a little rain is unlikely to make a lot of difference anyway. Race T-shirts and snacks are included in the price and online registration is available for anyone wishing to participate.
The run kicks off at 9:00 am this Saturday, September 1. Poster printing and flyer printing have probably been used to promote it to area families and their friends. The cost is $50 per individual, $160 per team, and $15 for the Little Geoduck run. For additional info, or to register, please visit the Great Evergreen Mud Run website or call 360-867-6520.
