Olympia area Dusk Dash to help local not-for-profits

May 6, 2017 by

This year, 12,000 rubber ducks will be hitting the waters of Tumwater Falls Park to take part in the annual Duck Dash, and Olympia residents are invited to come out and get in on the excitement.

Each of the ducks in the race, which has been organized by Lacey Rotary, will be tagged with a number, and as they cross the finish line, their numbers will be recorded and the holder of that number will win a prize.

The duck race will not be the only activity to take place as part of the day. It will kick off at 11:00 am with a Family Food and Fun Fair, where they will be games, entertainment, and food prepared by an assortment of local eateries. The kids can enjoy exploring Kids World, where they will be able to have fun playing and even win a prize of their own. Banners and other decorative items for a function like this can be supplied by a local printer.

Ducks can be purchased ahead of time from Lacey Rotary members or other outlets, and they will also be available for purchase on the day of the event. The monies raised will be used to help support a variety of community-based not for profit groups and organizations that meet the needs of locals.

The Duck Dash will be held on June 3 in Tumwater Falls Park, and additional information can be found on the Thurston Talk website.
