Jolly good show on the way to Olympia

August 28, 2013 by

This evening will see rock and country artist Jeanne Jolly perform live as part of the ‘Music in the Parks’ series, presented by the Olympia Downtown Association.

This outdoor performance has been designed for people of all ages to enjoy good company, great music, and dancing. Since it aims to appeal to a wide audience, it is likely that poster printing will be one of the methods used to entice local music fans.

Jolly is a talented singer and songwriter who burst onto the music scene when Chris Botti, a Grammy-winning trumpeter, handed her a chance as a vocalist. She has a classically trained voice capable of belting out some powerful material, and has co-written and co-produced many of the songs used by the band she formed in 2009.

In 2010, Jolly released a new EP called ‘Falling in Carolina’ and has played on stage with May Chapin Carpenter, Haynes Carll, and Emmylou Harris, while also making appearances at the Red Ants Festival and the Sweet Pea Festival. She has been featured on a number of radio shows and presents the audience with a selection of music, encompassing everything from modern jazz to rock and country.

People are reminded to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and food, but will not need to pay to attend. Jolly will perform tonight, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Sylvester Park located at 615 Washington Street SE in Olympia, Washington.
