Independence Day celebration planned for Olympia area

June 23, 2017 by

This summer, residents of Olympia are invited to head to the nearby community of Lacey to take in its pre-Fourth fireworks show.

The fireworks display will mark the opening of the community’s Independence Day festivities. There will be lots to do for all ages. The kids can spend time in the bounce castle, enjoy the skate park and playgrounds, and go down the slides that will be specially set up for the day. Meanwhile, food vendors will be on hand to feed the crowd.

Those who come out are welcome to bring along a picnic basket of treats, as well as a blanket or folding chair. There will be live entertainment before the fireworks, and the public can put on their dancing shoes and join in the party. At 10:00 pm, the colorful aerial display, which has been organized through the support of the TwinStar Credit Union, will begin, and it is scheduled to run for 20 minutes.

This celebration of the nation’s birthday is open to all, and it is being offered free of charge. Banners, posters, and other large-sized decorations for a community function such as this can be provided by an area printer.

The 51st annual Lacey Fireworks Show and Freedom Concert has been planned for July 3rd in Rainier Vista Community Park. More information can be found on the event’s website.
