On Saturday, March 10, 2012, the Pacific Northwest Harmony Sweepstakes “A Cappella Festival” will take place at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts, 512 Washington Street, Southeast, Olympia, Washington beginning at 7 pm.
This event has been delighting audiences now for almost a quarter of a century, nationwide. NBC’s “The Sing Off” inspired this showcase many years ago and through this show, the art of a cappella has been revived. The winner of this evening event represents the Mid Atlantic at this year’s National Finals.
This year’s groups plan to sing everything from doo-wop and pops, to bouncy barbershop and vocal jazz, and pretty much everything in between. This evening promises to be a wonderful vocal experience that can be enjoyed by the entire family. This harmonic sweepstakes event encompasses all styles of music from the traditional form to the more exhilarating and inspirational varieties. In this traditional format this is a celebration of the human voice and the sounds it creates.
This year’s performances highlights are the hundreds of emerging groups coming from different locations around the country. This festival’s title and awards are competed for in eight regions during the months of spring, and followed by a gala which decides the National Finals in San Rafael, California early in the month of May.
This event has a host of celebrity judges and this night in Olympia, Washington promises to be a night to remember by all who attend. Printing companies have finished printing the tickets, which are now available for sale. For additional information on this event, please call 360-753-8586 anytime.
