Longview already has its winter plans frozen in place

Aware that the move towards winter brings with it the rush to buy presents, the Longwood area is offering two art festivals this November, allowing visitors to purchase handmade and unique items for their friends and family.

The 37th annual Longwood Arts and Crafts Festival will take place over two days late on in the month. The popular festival is presented by the Central Florida Society for Historical Preservation and drew over 30,000 visitor and 175 artists in 2012. A juried show, the artists compete for cash prizes, but all their items must be handcrafted. Those chosen can rent a 10×10 foot vendor booth for $225 plus a $15 jury fee. There is, however, no charge to simply attend the event.

This will all be taking place on the streets of the Longwood Historic District from November 23-24 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm each day. For more information call 407-331-7354.

At the same time, the Winter Garden Art Festival is being held for the 12th year. It is hosted by the Historic Winter Garden Merchants Association, and will feature more than 100 artists, a selection of food vendors, art activities for children, and live entertainment.

Like the aforementioned arts and crafts event, this is a juried festival. To find out more about this one, visit its official website.

Printing companies in Longwood and Winter Garden will no doubt be hired to help the organizers market both of these festivals to the community.
