Run for fun in Kent

June 27, 2012 by

Taking place on Saturday, July 14, the annual Kent Comucopia Days Fun Run will start at the parking lot of the Riverbend Golf Course, which is accessible from Russell Road Park and the Kent Elementary School in Kent, Washington. This event will begin promptly at 9:00 am.

This U.S. Track and Field certified event is a summer tradition for many of the residents in Kent, being one of the few flat courses offered in this area. There will be awards for the top five people who finish the race in each category, as well as random prices for the “Dirty Dash” with wakeboards and gift certificates supplied by many of the local merchants.

Hosted by the Kent Parks Recreation and Community Services department, registration for the event is taking place online but will also be available through many of the Puget Sound and Kent Commons athletic stores. Parking is available at 24,400 Russell Road, which is about a ten-minute walk from the Riverbend Golf Course, so guests are asked to allow adequate time. There will be staff onsite to provide assistance for registration and other information, if needed. To avoid the lineups, people can pick up bibs and shirts on Wednesday, July 11, at Road Runner Sports, located at the Kent Station, between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

Entrance fee for this race is $10 per person, although if guests would like a technical T-shirt, the price is $25 per person. Guests aged 60 or over run for free.

Flyer printing may have been used to advertise this annual event to the public. For more information, please visit the Kent Arts website or call 253-856-5050.
