Kalimba set to bring the funk to Issaquah

August 2, 2013 by

A popular Earth, Wind & Fire tribute act is set to entertain the masses in Issaquah next week.

The group, Kalimba, is playing in the area as part of the Concerts on the Green live music series, which sees a different performance staged each week.

The run of shows is being advertised around the town with the help of printing companies. With eye-catching posters and flyers, organizers are hoping to keep visitor numbers high throughout the season.

Kalimba is recognized by many as one of the country’s best touring tribute acts and is perhaps the most famous to play the hits of the 70s R&B legends from Chicago.

Together, Kalimba’s members have acquired more than 100 years’ experience in touring, recording, and performing. With musicians from all corners of the States, the band draws on a range of regional influences, covering everything from soul and jazz to rock and blues.

Music fans in the area are thought to be excited about experiencing a selection of hits spanning Earth, Wind & Fire’s catalog, which spans three decades.

Kalimba’s Concert on the Green will take place on Tuesday with the show starting at 7:00pm at the Issaquah Community Center, which is located at 301 Rainier Blvd. Admission for the event is free to all.

To learn more about the series of shows, visit the Concerts on the Green website or call the venue. More information can also be found on the flyers and banners dotted around the area.
