Holiday festival highlights the arts in Bellingham

The Allied Arts Holiday Festival of the Arts, a presentation of Allied Arts of Whatcom County, got underway on November 15 and brings together more than 100 local artisans and craftspeople over the next few weeks.

Those involved will be selling their handmade items every Wednesday through Sunday during the festival, and attendees can expect to see the likes of glassware, ceramics, bath and body products, paintings, prints, and gourmet food items. It looks likely to be a good place to pick up some last minute gifts that will be both unique and pleasing to the recipient.

In addition, there will be several musical performances throughout the day from local musicians and children’s workshops. One upcoming example, taking place on December 7 from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm, is printmaking led by Jacquie Bresadola.

Those who are planning to sell their arts and crafts at Bellingham shows usually want to make their booths stand out from the others, which often encourages them to work with local printing companies to design the likes of posters, signs, and banners and draw attention from passersby. Booths that stand out are likely to sell more items, or at least have the opportunity to speak to more people.

The Allied Arts Holiday Festival will be running until December 24 from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm each day (with the exception of Mondays and Tuesdays) at the Cornwall Shopping Center. Admission is free. For more information, contact Katy Borden 360-676-8548.
