Rodeo festival set to stampede into Orem area
June 16, 2013 by James
Orem residents are invited to soak up some cowboy spirit at a rodeo-themed festival in a nearby Utah Valley community.
The much-anticipated ‘Lehi Round-Up’ is ready to make its return for 2013. Printing services are most likely being employed to prepare posters and other promotional items for this Western-style event, which is set to take place toward the end of the month and will last for nearly a week.
The highlight of the Round-Up will be a professional rodeo, which will be held on three successive evenings. This cattle-herding competition will be family-friendly, and spectators of all ages are expected to attend.
The festival will include plenty of other activities as well. Among these will be horseshoe and softball tournaments, a 5K walk, and 5K and 10K runs. Attendees will also gather to hear readings of cowboy poetry. In addition, several parades featuring cowboys and horses are scheduled to make their way through the festival grounds.
Country-style cuisine will be readily available throughout the week. Those who visit the festival are encouraged to stop by in the mornings for a traditional chuckwagon breakfast.
The Round-Up will run from Monday, June 24 through Saturday, June 29 at the Lehi Rodeo Grounds (200 North 500 West). It will be open from 8:00 am until 10:00 pm each day.
Fees for individual activities will vary. Reservations will be required for the rodeo, which will begin at 8:00 pm on June 27, 28, and 29. Those who would like to learn more information or purchase rodeo tickets should call (801) 766-9622.
