Salt Lake City area playwrights to debut creations at theater festival
January 14, 2014 by Max
Cottonwood Heights residents are invited to demonstrate their support for local playwrights by attending a series of shows at a popular venue in downtown Salt Lake City.
In less than two weeks’ time, the annual Page-to-Stage Festival will be returning to the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center. The demand for professional printing services may be on the increase as the sponsors and organizers of this three-day extravaganza prepare programs and informational flyers for hundreds of expected attendees.
At this year’s event, six scriptwriters affiliated with the Wasatch Theatre Company will present their work to the public for the first time. Each playwright has worked with a director to prepare a script of 10 to 15 minutes in length. Actors from Wasatch Theatre will take the stage to bring all of these new stories to life. In the past, the featured scripts have covered every genre from tragedy to comedy.
The festival will begin on Thursday, January 23 and continue through Saturday, January 25. Performances will start at 8:00 pm on the Thursday and Friday. On the Saturday, there will be a showing at 2:00 pm as well as at 8:00 pm. Each show will last an estimated two hours and 10 minutes, which includes an intermission.
The Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center is located at 138 West 300 South. Tickets will cost $15 per person. The event is recommended for attendees over eight years of age. Those seeking more information may phone the box office at 1-888-451-ARTS.
