Salt Lake area abuzz over children’s museum fundraiser
April 3, 2013 by James
Cottonwood Heights area residents are encouraged to participate in a local tradition aimed at benefiting early childhood education.
In just over a week’s time, the Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum in nearby Salt Lake City will be holding its fourth annual Bumble Bee Bash. Print companies have likely been seeing more business as the organizers of this family-friendly event prepare flyers, posters, and other materials for the day of the fundraiser.
The main focus of the Bumble Bee Bash will be a silent auction. Members of the community are offered an opportunity to bid on concert and theatre tickets, birthday party packages, and more. In addition, they will have the chance to spin a “donation wheel” and earn certificates to local restaurants. The proceeds from these activities will go entirely toward the children’s museum, which offers hands-on learning exhibits and programs for youngsters throughout Utah and the Intermountain region.
The event will also feature plenty of entertainment for kids. Children who attend the fundraiser will be able to participate in dress-up contests, pose for pictures in a photo booth, and enjoy music from Radio Disney and the Wasatch Music Coaching Academy.
The Bumble Bee Bash will take place on Friday, April 12 between 5:30 pm and 9:00 pm. Attendance will cost $25 for individuals and $115 for families with up to four children. Dinner will be provided.
Discovery Gateway is located at 444 West 100 South in downtown Salt Lake City. Those who would like more information about this fundraising event may call (801) 456-5437.
