Wilsonville gets ready for artistic adventures

May 30, 2013 by

An annual event, The Festival of Arts in Wilsonville is now celebrating its 14th year. This year’s event will be held this weekend and offers activities for people of all ages including this year’s headliner, Patrick Lamb, who will be accompanied by a 10-piece performing band. Banner printing, poster printing, and flyer printing may have been the chosen method of promotion used by the organizers to spread the news to the people in this region.

This year’s festival features more than 60 professional artisans with visual art for sale, a selection of food booths, a stage with puppeteers, professional musicians, community groups, and students. There will be storytelling, an authors’ book show and sell, a silent auction, a student Art Pavilion from the students at WIWV school area, live demonstrations courtesy of the Art Tech High School, and sampling of electronic instruments through The Youth Music Project.

The two-day event offers many shopping opportunities, as well as great fun for everyone. The Children’s area features art and craft activities for pre-school aged children. This is a rain or shine event and families are reminded to dress for the weather.

There is no fee associated with this event, so it is an excellent chance to get out the houseand join the fun. The Festival of Arts will be happening this Saturday, June 1, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday, June 2, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Town Center Park and Visitors Center located at 29600 SW Park Place in Wilsonville, Oregon.
