New park to open its gates
October 30, 2012 by James
Of special interest to families who reside in the Montebello neighborhood, a dedication to the new Engelman Park is coming up this weekend. The park will now be a natural playground for families in this area. During this event, all families are welcome to attend and enjoy the planned festivities.
The dedication portion of this event will hear comments and remarks from Linda Engelman – the original owner of the property – as well as the Mayor, contributors, staff, city leaders, and community members. During the dedication there will be park tours, refreshments, a walk along the trails, and guests will be able to view the new native plantings, picnic tables, and the natural play areas complete with benches.
The construction of the park was made possible thanks to a grant from the Oregon State Parks to assist with the construction and design, which enabled the city to expand the neighborhood park that already existed. It was designed with the assistance of GreenWorks Inc.
Flyer printing and poster printing may have helped to promote this dedication to members of the community and Montebello neighborhood. Admission is free for what should be a day of enjoyable celebration.
The Engelman Park dedication ceremony will be happening on Sunday, November 4, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Engelman Park located at 29987 SW Wilsonville Road in Wilsonville, Oregon. To learn more about this dedication and the services now available in the park, please visit the Community Services website or call itsoffice at 503-682-3727 during business hours. Parking for this event is available on Montebello Drive.
