Earth Day Celebration April 24
March 27, 2012 by Mark
On Tuesday, April 24th, the community of Wilsonville will be enjoying its 2012 Earth Day Celebration at Wilsonville Public Library located at 8200 SW Wilsonville Road, Wilsonville, Oregon. This event will be held from 5pm to 8pm and open to all members of the community, and of all ages.
The theme for this year’s Earth Day Celebration is “Be Water Wise Wilsonville”. This special event is held each year to teach people how to appreciate the planet they live on, how to become a good steward for the environment, to appreciate the water we drink, and the animals that share their habitat with us. The event this year will emphasize the need for cleaning drinking water and why it is so important. At this event, questions, such as where all the water goes after rain and how to prevent that precious ground water from being contaminated, will be answered.
There will many activities for both children and grownups. Children will enjoy the coloring pages and games at this event, while parents learn about the footprint their water usage leaves on the world.
Print companies, such as those creating flyer printing, brochure printing, and poster printing for these events, are becoming instrumental in helping the environment, by switching from toxic inks to vegetable dyes amongst other practises. Today, many of the papers used for flyer printing are recycled to save trees, in order to keep the air that we breathe fresh and pure. Posters can be downloaded from the website, saving on wasted printing costs and paper.
This event is free to all and all members of the community are invited to attend and learn more about the planet they live on. For additional information, please call Lisa Nead at 503-570-1535 or visit the Earth Day 2012 Celebration’s website.
