The SMART Trolley Historic Tour will be departing from the Wilsonville Community Center located at 7965 Southwest Wilsonville Road in Wilsonville, Oregon on Thursday, July 19. This tour runs from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Seating is limited and registration is required, so those interested will need to be quick if they want to get involved.
A historic trolley tour operating during three dates in the summer months, this is a marvelous trip through the community to look at the historic buildings, landmarks, and other items of historic interest. Travelers on this tour as ask to make a donation and there will be space on the trolley for two wheelchairs or scooters, as well as a lift. Donations offered by the riders are utilized to give a deserving neighborhood in the community a facelift. Guests are asked to register in advance.
During the past twenty years or so, Wilsonville’s transportation system has been reshaped by the vision of many business leaders and city planners. The South Metro Area Regional Transit, SMART, began development in 1989 and was followed by the Westside Express Service, WES, commuter rail service in 2009. This trolley service travels on various SMART routes, weather permitting, enabling the public to catch a ride by booking through the customer service department at 503-682-7790.
