Festival of Balloons
April 27, 2012 by Sarah
From Friday, June 22nd until Sunday, June 24th Tigard will be hosting the Festival of Balloons at the Cook Park located at 1700 SW 92nd Avenue in Tigard. This event begins really early at 5:45 am.
Guests will want to arrive early at Cook Park to experience the launch of some of the spectacular balloons participating in this year’s event. After launch these colorful balloons will speckle the sky, weather permitting each morning. At this festival, guests will be able to spend their morning and afternoon hours enjoying business vendor booths, arts and craft booth, and clowns, the carnival, and lots of cotton candy. On Saturday, this festival features Radio Disney and the Safety Safari, as well as the Natural Northwest Night Glow. On Sunday, the feature event will be the Festival of Cars. There will also be the Rogue Beer Gardens on Friday and Saturday evenings. This festival has a long line up of entertainers appearing on the Frontier Main Stage. This festival is more than just about balloons; there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy, and there will be a children’s area as well.
This festival is organized by a non-profit group that raises funds for many local groups including Tigard High School Boosters, Tigard Lunch Rotary, Tigard High School Band, and Tigard Breakfast club, just to name a few. Local printing companies may have prepared some of the promotional materials for this great family event.
