4th year for Energy Event for Earth Day

On Saturday, April 21, 2012, Tigard’s 4th annual Energy Event for Earth Day will take place at 17005 SW 92nd Avenue, in Tigard, Oregon. Last year this event hosted more than 800 participants from every age group and this year’s event organizers are hoping for even more. The event focuses on people’s health, community, lifestyle choices, and choosing to live green to help preserve our planet for generations to come.

This event is organized and managed by Energy Events and all information required can be located on their company website. This group focuses on creating healthy heart events for many communities throughout the United States. This year’s walks and runs begin at Cook Park where visitors will discover how to build green, enjoy live musical entertainment, taste test organic beer, sample a veggie burger or two, and enjoy a variety of information booths all featuring healthy and green living to sustain wellness.

Registration is required for this event and the deadline date for registration is Monday, April 16, 2012 before 5 pm. There are several categories this year for participants to choose from including 5 km walk/run – any age, 5 mile run – any age, kids recycle race – 3 to 6: 7 to 12, and the kids recycle 1 km race – 3 to 6: 7 to 12. The children’s events are $5 for younger children and $7 for older children. The any age races are $18 for age 18 or under and $30 for those over 18.
