Zoo invites campers to spend the night
July 27, 2012 by Mark
Portland folk who love the outdoors may be interested in an Outdoor Family Camperoo taking place this weekend. It will be held at the Oregon Zoo located at 4001 SW Canyon Road in Portland, taking place between 4:00 pm and 9:30 pm, July 28 – 29.
Campers are invited to spend a night at the Oregon Zoo and discover what strange noises and sounds they hear under the moonlight. Guests are bound to discover how very different the zoo looks at night.
To join in the fun, campers need to bring along their tent and sleeping bag, so they can join the others attending this event and sleep under the stars. Overnight camping will take place on the concert lawn but, before bedtime, there will be guided tours through the animal exhibits and guests will have the opportunity to check the zoo out behind the scenes. There will be all kinds of information provided about animals, their habitats, and how animal enrichment helps everyone. The cost of this event includes a campfire, dinner, snacks and a great breakfast. Poster printing and flyer printing may have been used to promote this event to parents and their children in Portland and the surrounding area.
Admission prices for this event vary depending upon membership and the age of visitors, although children under 2 are free. Pre-registration for this event is required and can be done online. For more information, and the full range of admission costs, please visit the Oregon Zoo website or call Tracy Modde at 503-220-2781.
