Rock violinist to swoop in this weekend

December 20, 2013 by

Taking place over this weekend is the 13th Annual Holiday Concert Series, and this year will feature concert rock violinist Aaron Meyer, performing three shows for the listening enjoyment of the audience. Poster printing might have been the method chosen to promote this lively holiday special to people in the region.

Meyer will be joined at the three holiday shows by his concert rock orchestra, a six piece group that features the renowned producer and guitarist, Tim Ellis. The show will include Meyer’s unique combination of progressive rock, classical, and world music.

At noon this Saturday, there will be a one-hour introductory session about the concert stage for those who wish to learn more about the stage and music. This session is being hosted by Mayer and Ellis and will be an eye-opener for those who are interested in learning more about music. This class is free for the first 700 students that attend and is put on by the Oregon Music Hall of Fame. Students are requested to sign up at Aaron Meyer’s official website.

Tickets are $30 per adult, $25 per student, senior, or child, and $5 more if purchased the day of the show. The Show takes place both tonight at 7:30pm and Saturday, December 21, at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm at the First Congregational United Church of Christ located at 1126 SW Park Avenue in Portland, Oregon. For those looking for additional information, Aaron Meyer’s website or calling 503-228-7219 are options.
