Portland prepares for buildup to Lego event

February 14, 2017 by

Bricks Cascade 2017 is coming to Portland for four days next month, consisting of a private builders’ convention and a public exposition.

The convention is aimed at adult fans of Lego, known as AFOLs. Attendees will have the opportunity to build their own displays with the colorful blocks and showcase them to the public during the exposition. There will be presentations from expert builders, as well as a number of games.

The exposition, in addition to featuring the Lego creations of AFOL convention attendees, will have a Duplo building area open to the public. A variety of vendors will be on hand to sell Lego sets and building accessories, and they may also have books, games, DVDs, and individual LEGO pieces. Guests will also be able to vote for their favorite LEGO displays.

This event will appeal to people of all ages from the Portland area and beyond. No doubt flyers and brochures will be distributed in the area to help spread the word.

The AFOL convention will be held at the Oregon Convention Center from March 9 to 12. Tickets are $80 until February 24 and $100 after.

The exposition will take place from March 11 to 12. Tickets are $10 each or $36 for a family of four pass.
