Annual art auction showcases local artists

The 28th annual CAP Art Auction is taking place next month in Portland, and is a fundraiser for the Cascade AIDS Project.

The theme of the event is Art Deco, and guests are encouraged to dress in formal wear of the 1920s and ‘30s. The evening will start off with a cocktail reception where guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and drinks, and may have the opportunity to meet some of the participating artists. It will be followed by a sit-down dinner and a live auction. Pieces of art that have been donated by the artists, local galleries, and collectors will be up for bidding on.

Next will be an after-party and silent auction featuring more artworks. It is set to feature a DJ, dancing, more hors d’oeuvres, and drinks.

The Cascade AIDS Project (CAP) is an organization that encourages and provides HIV testing. It also helps to spread public awareness and supports those who test positive.

This event is expected to attract approximately 1,500 guests, and no doubt many of them will be sent invitations provided by a Portland stationery printing firm.

The CAP Art Auction will be held at the Montgomery Park Building on April 29 from 5:30 PM to midnight. Tickets are $300 each or $50 for the after-party only. Call 503-278-3854 to learn more.
