Aerial acrobatics to swoop into Portland this month

July 15, 2013 by

The ‘A-WOL Dance Collective: Art in the Dark Showcase’ is a child- and adult-friendly event that provides aerial performances over the head of the audience. The dance company will perform many floor dances with no boundaries or limits, which promises to be part of an entertaining night for everyone, no doubt supported by promotional poster printing.

During this event, children and their parents will be able to watch aerial dancers perform pieces that will be included in their upcoming showcase, as they dangle precariously from the canopy high above the park setting. This is being presented by A-WOL Dance Collective takes many of the more traditional dances, usually performed at ground level, into the air without any support.

The Dance Collective performs each year to ignite creativity and inspiration in its audiences, no matter what their age. This performance is part of the programming provided by the Direct Park, which is a part of the Portland Parks and Recreation, and is one of a number of events it has planned.

Families can rest assured that there is no charge to watch the proceedings, whether they are young or old. The A-WOL Dance Collective: Art in the Dark Showcase will be happening on Saturday, July 27, starting at 11:00 am at Director Park located at the corner of SW Yamhill Street and SW Park Street in Portland, Oregon.
