See Oregon City’s hidden gems

May 29, 2012 by

From now until the end of July, Oregon residents are being invited to “Discover Oregon City’s Hidden Gems” using their cameras to capture images of historic homes, buildings, and the landscapes of the community.

The competition began at the start of May but there is still plenty of time for interested parties to take part in this contest, which is sponsored by the City of Oregon City and the Clackamas County Historical Society. Everyone is allowed to submit up to three photographs on the above topics, although the person entering photos must have taken and own the copyright to them. There are other guidelines which must be adhered to, especially with regards to formatting, so it would be advisable to study these on the City of Oregon City’s website before making your submission.
All entries must be postmarked no later than June 30 in order to qualify. Winning photos will be announced in July and winners will receive notice via email, US mail, or phone. There will be a winner in each category and winning photographs will be on display at the Museum of the Oregon Territory from July 21 – 22, with a possibility that they will later be used by the City of Oregon City or the Clackamas County Historic Society in publications.

Brochure printing and stationery printing about this competition may have been used so that all residents know about this exciting event. Prize money for this event for adults is $75, teen $50, and youth $25. Prize money has been donated by Danelsons Hilltop Mall.
