Local college to support cause through weekend event
June 28, 2013 by Mark
The Relay for Life at Clackamas Community College event comes around this weekend and will give people the opportunity to come out and enjoy a little exercise, some great networking, and a chance to support a great cause – cancer prevention.
This is a high-energy event designed to inspire hope and sharing, as well as to remind others we can win the battle against cancer. Poster printing, flyer printing, and banner printing could have been the method chosen for the organizers to promote this event to this community.
Fighting cancer is a lifelong, year-round mission of Relay for Life organizers. This year, there will be several functions taking place throughout the event, including a survivors’ lap at 9:30 am, which follows the opening ceremonies. This is completed with the help of upbeat music while the survivors are cheered on by other participants.
After that, there will be a Luminaria Ceremony that celebrates a time to remember those who lost their battle to cancer at 9:00 pm that will be followed by the Closing Ceremony on Sunday at 9:00 am. This race takes place each year and provides those who are battling cancer, as well as those who have survived it or lost a loved one to it, with the chance to make a difference and to raise funds to fight the cause.
There is no fee to enter this race, but donation will gladly be accepted. The event will be help this Saturday and Sunday, starting at 9:00 am on both days, at the Clackamas Community College located at 19600 Molalla Avenue in Oregon City.
