On Thursday, April 5th, 2012 the Oregon City Children’s Theatre will be presenting Stephen Sondheim’s “Into the Woods” at the Jackson Street Theatre campus located at 1306 12th Street in Oregon City, Oregon. This performance will take place from 7:00pm to 10:00pm.
Into the Woods is an adventure starring a baker and his wife that cannot have children until they are able to break a curse placed upon them. This play is magical. In this great performance, feature characters from all the classic fairytales spring to life including Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, and Rapunzel. This new storyline becomes intertwined with many unexpected turns and twists.
There is plenty of action, suspense, and drama to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. From nowhere comes a Wicked Witch, as well as a host of other characters that viewers will find unforgettable. There are changing storylines that twist the idea of the standard fairytale and show the consequences of actions, as well as the fate of certain characters. This story is ideal for children over eight, but parental discretion is expected. This is directed by Michelle Leigh, with musical direction by Bruce Kreig.
This play is ideal for children eight and over. Supported by the entire community, local printing services are no doubt printing programs, tickets and posters for the event. The cost is $7 per adult, $5 per senior, and $5 per child of twelve and under. For additional information, visit the Oregon City Children’s Theatre or the Jackson Street Theatre website.
