It’s all about the kids in Jacksonville

June 29, 2012 by

From Saturday, July 7 until Monday, July 9, the Children’s Festival will take place at the Britt Festival Grounds, which is located in Jacksonville, Oregon approximately five miles west of Medford. This event takes place on Saturday and Sunday from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm and Monday from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm.

The Children’s Festival is great family entertainment, especially for children between the ages of two and twelve. At this event, there will be arts and crafts, jewelry making, dancing, face painting, and live entertainment. This event is sponsored by the Story Telling Guild, as well as the Friends of the Jackson County Library. This is the 46th annual Children’s Festival and folks of all ages will enjoy the activities.

This has been an affordable summer experience in the Rogue Valley for a number of years and allows children’s imaginations to run wild. There are more than 35 hands-on activities taking place, one of which features the feeding of Rosabelle and Pebbles, the daily litter-eating dragons. Older children will make pottery, candles, and many woodworking projects, as well as having the opportunity to make their own puppets, easel art, and sand creations. There is a schedule of events and times on the website for people to visit. Parking for this event is available in the lots on C and D streets at the bottom of the hill. These are just off Oregon Street.

Flyer printing and poster printing may have been used to promote this event to the residents of Medford. Admission to this event is $3 per person. For additional information about the Children’s Festival, please visit their website or call 541-774-6409.
