Tall Ships Visit Coos Bay Docks

April 29, 2012 by

From Thursday, May 3 to Tuesday, May 15th, the tall ships will be visiting the Coos Bay Docks in the City of Coos Bay, Oregon. Each day there are different scheduled events, so visiting the Historical Seaport website is recommended.

Like all tall ship events, when the Brigadier Lady Washington and her tall ship companion, the Hawaiian Chieftain, a topsail Ketch, arrive in harbor, they arrive admits many oh’s and awe’s. This touring duo will spend thirteen days in harbor at Coos Bay. These ships will offer public sailing programs in conjunction with the Coos Bay Boat Building Center, as well as public walk on tours, and a selection of educational programs for children between Kindergarten and Grade 12. All of these events have a price as follows: Walk-on Tours are $3; Sail on the Lady Washington and the Hawaiian Chieftain are $40 – $60; Evening sail on Hawaiian Chieftain is $35; Lady Washington evening sail is $35; and Adventure Sail aboard the Lady Washington is $35. All of these prices are per person. The Coos Bay Boat Building Center is working hard to raise funds so students may board the two tall ships as part of an educational program.

Brochure printing for this prestigious event may be used to entice schools to sign their classes up for this educational event. For most this is a great learning experience.
