Bend to host festival of winter fun

January 5, 2017 by

This winter, the community of Bend will once again be hosting Winterfest, which will offer a wide variety of ways to take the chill off the cold weather.

The event will consist of an assortment of activities, with something for people of any age. With a theme of fire and ice, it will include everything from beer tastings and wine walks to concerts and live performances, shopping, a fire pit competition, demonstrations by stuntmen, a kids’ area, ice sculptures, a show with the k9 Kings, food vendors, and a crowning ceremony for the Fire King and Ice Queen.

In addition to all of the above activities, there will be five and ten kilometer Royal Runs and a kids’ Hot Cocoa Run. All of this is in support of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Oregon, which provides mentoring and other help to children who can use a positive role model in their lives. A company that produces promotional products will be able to provide custom designed ones that can be sold as souvenirs of an event like this.

Oregon’s Winterfest will be held in Bend from February 17th to the 19th. A complete list of activities, along with their times, locations, and entry fees, and also a link for those who are interested in volunteering, can be found by visiting the event’s website.
