Ribbon Cutting at the Beaverton Farmers’ Market
May 11, 2012 by James
On Saturday, May 12th, a ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at the Beaverton Farmers’ Market located at SW Hall Boulevard, between 5th Street and 3rd Street in Beaverton, Oregon. This event will take place between 8:00 am and 8:30 am.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place in honor of the Beaverton Farmers’ Market 25th Anniversary. Mayor Denny Doyle will be the official ribbon cutter and, after the ceremony, a specially prepared birthday cake will be shared by all guests to mark the opening day for the market. This year’s opening is taking place on Mother’s Day weekend and guests will be encouraged to shop for Mom. The farmers’ market has more than 200 vendors offering fresh-cut flowers, flowers to plant, delicious baking goods, wonderful hand-crafted products, chocolates, freshly roasted coffee, and much more. This year, 18 new vendors have been added to the market with many of the vendors offering locally grown fruits, vegetables, and meat products. There will also be a number of activities, including interactive programs for children to encourage them to find and eat food available in the market. There will be a scavenger hunt, wine tasting, and a special food sampling dinner called “Feast of the Farm” to persuade families to expand their diet using fresh, natural foods.
Since this is a special event, flyer printing and banner printing has probably been used to promote this event to the community. Admission to this family event is free. For additional information, please visit the Beaverton Farmers’ Market website or call 503-643-5345.
