Sparks Whole Foods Hometowne Farmer’s Market celebrates end of season
August 5, 2012 by Mark
Food lovers in Sparks have a limited chance to get their hands on the finest seasonal produce this August.
Sparks has become the go-to place for local and regional produce and seasonal specialties offered at the Whole Food Hometowne Farmer’s Market weekly. The market, presented by Shirley’s Farmers’ Markets, is held in Sparks Victorian Square throughout the summer ending August 23, 2012 for the season. It runs every Thursday throughout the day and early evenings.
In addition to the fresh produce, vendors are onsite providing crafts, art, specialty seasons and oils, pet products, outdoor items and clothing. Shirley’s Farmers’ Markets has been in business for 20 years promoting markets throughout Northern Nevada. Their website lists many recipes to be used with the fresh produce and seasonal foods often found at the market. Some of the recipes are from popular restaurants in the area that were happy to share some of their favorite dishes.
Frequently for farmers’ markets of this type, printing services are provided by local printers to assist with the promotion and merchandising of the event and vendors. Vendors should consider having business cards at their booths as well as possibly using brochure printing services to include vivid brochures depicting their products and services along with contact information. Another print service commonly used for booth product promotion is poster printing. Posters can be posted in designated areas attracting the attention of passers-by and direct them to the vendor’s booth which may increase the likelihood of sales.
Vendors interested in participating in the markets can apply online or call for more information on any of the local farmers’ markets.
