Alzheimer’s walk Sparks into action

August 15, 2013 by

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s event is soon to take place in Sparks, Nevada at the Sparks Marina, located on Howard Drive.

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the largest event in the company and is held to raise funds for care, support, and research into Alzheimer’s. The event takes place annually in 600 communities across the country, uniting friends, families, colleagues, and other groups in a fun and worthy effort.

There is no fee to register, although each participant is asked to raise funds for the campaign. Free tools and support are given to each participant to help attain the individual fundraising goal.

After checking in on the day, welcome remarks will commence, followed by a stop at the Promise Garden. Each participant will receive a complimentary flower, which can later be inscribed with a loved one’s name. The flower should be brought to the Opening Ceremony for the interactive demonstration.

Sponsor and partner booths will be onsite, giving participants and visitors the chance to stop by to gather useful information and learn about services, resources, and programs. Events that include booths generally contract with a local print company to handle banner printing. These are usually placed throughout an event to direct and guide visitors and participating entrants to designated areas.

Registration is open and may be handled online, and the walk will take place on September 28, with check-in at 8:00 am. For more information, contact 775.786.8061 or visit the event’s website.
