Reno schedules 2013 Championship Air Races Show

February 28, 2013 by

For nearly 50 years, the National Championship Air Races and Air Show has been returning to Reno, and the dates have been confirmed for this year’s event.

This event is the last pylon racing event of its type in the world. Presenting seven classes of racing aircraft in a unique course setting, attendees will see wing-tip speeds exceeding five hundred miles per hour.

Several aircraft classes will be participating in the races, including biplane, formula one, sport, T-6, jet, and unlimited class. Fans of this spectacular event claim the true experience and excitement is in the sights and sounds with engines roaring, take-off, landings, unbelievably high speed flying, and the thrill of the competition.

The event takes place about 12 miles outside of Reno at the Reno/Stead Airport. The air races attract thousands of people and the parking lots fill quickly. Many hotels and tourism locations in the Reno area provide shuttle buses to and from the races, which makes it very convenient for spectators.

Reno printing companies will be busy working with local businesses and event organizers in providing print services for this national event. Banner printing is a critical part of the communication plan for large outdoor events. Banners provide directional signage with high visibility for the public attending the event.

Tickets are on sale now through the event website. General admission is based on first come first served seating in the grandstands. A pit pass is required to enter the pit area and can be purchased separately.

The dates for this year’s event are September 11 – 15.
