Reno brews up for next weekend’s events

Music, craft beer, ale, and food will fill Wingfield Park in Reno for the second Nevada Craft Brewers Festival. Lonesome Locomotive, a local band, will provide live music at the event.
A total of 15 breweries from across the state are expected to participate, each providing at least two and up to four selections from the Silver State lineup of their finest brews.
Northern Nevada will challenge Southern Nevada in a friendly competition of brews with two collaborative beers – one from each end of the state.
The event supports the Nevada Craft Brewers Association, which is an organization promoting the industry, culture, and respective laws. The group focuses on helping support the community as well, through charity efforts and educational resources.
The craft beer industry is a major and fast-growing segment for the state’s food and beverage industries. Many casinos feature an element for brewing within their operations. As a newer initiative, Nevada brewers now distribute to many stores as well.
Outdoor events such as festivals usually have a need for banner printing from local printers so that banners can be placed throughout the venue. Each participating brewery will no doubt want to have signage to state the name of the company and other information to attract attention.
The event is scheduled for October 5 from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Admission is $25 in advance or $30 at the gate and includes the souvenir tasting glass along with unlimited beer. A $5 fee admits designated drivers and includes complimentary soft drinks and a T-shirt.
