Festival of fiber gets Friday night reception
March 14, 2014 by Max
A juried exhibition of fiber arts is coming to Fort Collins this weekend. Featuring the finest in fiber arts available for the viewing of the general public, there is much to highlight for any local poster or flyer printing company that might have been put to work to advertise this special show and its offerings.
The 40th Annual Fiber Celebration is being presented by the Northern Weavers Guild, which has had a long and richly successful history in artistic fiber arts, including felting, embroidery, wearable art, basketry, quilting, and weaving.
The competition was juried by Tien Chiu, who is an award-winning fiber artist with multiple disciplines, and who is a regular contributing writer to professional weaving journals. At the opening reception, there will be an awards presentation for those who have achieved placement in the various disciplines.
The fiber art show will run from this evening’s opening reception to April 26th for everyone to view during regular gallery hours.
Admission to the opening reception is free and all are welcome. The 40th Annual Fiber Celebration opening reception will be occurring this evening, starting at 5:00 pm at the Lincoln Center located at 417 W. Magnolia Street in Fort Collins, Colorado.
