The BigDoGrab in Colorado Springs is a family event designed to challenge each age group by providing a have fun, play hard, and get muddy set of obstacles that each group must race through to complete the run.
This event has something for everyone in the family, even those not taking up the challenge. It was designed to challenge people of all ages , as well as their dogs, in a safe and happy environment. There will be timed competitive racing for women and men early in the morning. Participants are allowed to by-pass the obstacles or do them repeatedly, if they wish, with the idea being that, at some point, both they and their dog will cross the finish line.
There are hills to run up, muddy bogs, cargo nets, mud pits, Tarzan swings, boulders to cross over, and some surprising water slides to maneuver. A 5k obstacle race can be tackled, as well as a 2k obstacle challenge, and people are invited to assist others along the way. The 2k run is designed for the little dogs and their owners, and there are also some tasty food, live music, mud sports, contests, and a kids’ fun zone to enjoy, so banner printing might be needed to designate everything going on.
The cost is $40 per dog and owner, and the run will be happening on Saturday, August 3, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Ram Off Road Park located at 12750 Highway 94 in Colorado Springs. To learn more, or to register, please visit the event’s website.
