Colorado Springs into action with October run

October 8, 2013 by

The 7th annual Peace Officer’s Memorial Valor Run will feature a 3K walk and a 5K walk/run later this month. Taking place along a scenic course with the proceeds going towards building a memorial for those who protect the community in Colorado Springs, no doubt banner printing has been used to spread the word about this event to people in this community and the surrounding areas.

The community is invited to come out and participate in this event, with runner/walker packets available the morning of the race. The untimed 3K walk is a fun event, is low intensity, and travels along Fountain Creek to the western side of America the Beautiful Park. The 5K walk/run, meanwhile, is a timed event along the south side of Fountain Creek to the western side of the park.

There are different age categories set for each of these events, and prizes will be given for the top female and male runners. Everyone who takes part will receive a Certificate of Accomplishment.

The cost to participate ranges between $20 and $30, and the event will be happening on Saturday, October 19, beginning at 9:00 am at America the Beautiful Park in Colorado Springs. To learn more, or to register for the run, please visit the Peace Officers Memorial Valor Run website.

All pre-registered participants will receive a T-shirt while supplies last, although this does not apply to competitors under the age of six, who can take part free of charge.
